Welcome

Gourley Township is a General Law Township established in 1920.  It is located in beautiful Northern Menominee County.  The Big Cedar River meanders through the township, with many beautiful homes along its banks, on its way to Lake Michigan. There are approximately 2,177 acres of State Land within the Township for all to enjoy.

It is a rural location with a population of only 420 and only a population density of 11.4 per square mile. There are many hardworking folks that live in this community with a very low unemployment rate of 6.1%.  The cost of living in this area is 17.8% lower than the U.S. national average.

In Gourley Township there are 2 public School Districts, North Central School and the Carney-Nadeau School.  There is also one privately run school within the Township, Wilson Junior Academy, for grades 1-10 only.

The Township Board meets on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. CST here at the Gourley Township hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
